Young Curators
will learn industry standard skills on how to develop an exhibition in a professional gallery space.
Opening event Shape Head Student Exhibition Watch This Space Nov 11
This will include exhibition:
planning (timelines, artists, artworks, media – types)
coordination (roles, who will do what)
marketing (intro blurb, image, media release, e-bulletin, facebook event, publicity)
design (where will the works go in the space, plynths, walls
installation (who, when, what do we need, paint plynths, touch up walls)
Interpretation (catalogue or labels or both – info panels, artist talk?)
sales (list of works, procedure, who will do these at the opening)
opening event (opening speaker, food, music, pre-clean –windows/floors, clean up)
De-installation (pack up works, sales, clean up gallery)
Participating students, supported by teachers will develop the theme and structure for the group exhibition, select works from their schools, install and coordinate the exhibition.
